Transneft Energy Evaluated the Quality of Electric Power Delivered to the Oil and Petroleum Product Transportation Facilities

Transneft Energy completed comprehensive evaluation of the quality of electricity delivered to Transneft power facilities and engaged in oil and petroleum products transportation (transshipment). The reference check covered 209 power facilities (PS, LODS, PEPS) outfitted with electric power quality control instruments.

The electric power quality reference check was held in Transneft subsidiaries to enable a comprehensive evaluation of the main electric power parameters compliance with regulations (GOST 32144-2013) at peak loads in the Unified Energy System of Russia on 19-25 December 2016.

Transneft Energy professionals analysed the main electric power quality parameters by frequency, voltage levels, higher harmonics and voltage unbalance.

Conclusions of the electric power quality at Transneft subsidiaries resulted in elaboration of an action plan aimed to improve the electric power quality; when implemented it will enhance the reliability and performance of electrical equipment.
